We decided to fly out of Newark airport for the best flight options. We flew British Airways business class through LHR to Amsterdam.

We found the British Airways lounge at Mewark to be great. The staff was super friendly and there was plenty of food and drink options. We had a great view of the planes coming and going and we left relatively on time. The flight was uneventful and we even managed to sleep a bit (Shawn more than Conrad).

We found the BA lounge at Heathrow very crowded but again found a nice place to hang out until we left for Amsterdam. We went to our “gate” which was posted very last minute only to find it was a bus which drove a very long way and then we boarded our plane up a set of stairs. It was a pretty large plane which took 5 busses to fill but apparently this is typical for Heathrow.

We had another relatively on time flight into Amsterdam where our driver met us outside. He was a really nice guy, talked about the things we’re seeing and gave us some suggestions for places to visit around Amsterdam. We are staying at the Movenpick in the city center, right on the water and near the central train station. We’ve stayed here before and like it. We had time for. Quick shower before dinner and then took a walk along the waterfront afterwards. Pictures soon.
