We started our Seattle and Olympic National Park trip today. We flew out of Philadelphia direct to Seattle on American Airlines. We decided to try the new AA lounge in terminal A and it was disappointing to say the least. Very few people, but also a very limited food selection with no food to order. We left and went over to the Centurion lounge and saw several others do the same. Centurion had a good food selection, but very limited seating. With a 6 hour flight and no food served onboard we got a quick breakfast and then went to the gate area. Our flight boarded on time, but was slightly delayed getting out of PHL due to a maintenance issue but they made up the time in flight and then some. We arrived about 15 minutes ahead of schedule. We took an Uber from the airport to out hotel, electing to delay picking up the rental car until we leave the city. Driving and parking in Seattle downtown is no fun. We had some lunch at the hotel while waiting for our room.
Once we checked in we headed for Pike Place market and the waterfront. We rode the ferris wheel and wandered around the waterfront area for a while and then headed back to the hotel.

It was unusually warm in Seattle today. We had some downtime at the hotel, showered and then headed to a very nice italian restaurant in South Lake Union. We had excellent service, a nice wine and some very good authentic italian food.
On the way back we wandered by the Spheres on the Amazon campus in SLU and then walked back to the hotel. There is a lot of homelessness and drug use apparent in the streets of downtown but it's also crowded with people out for dinner or shopping so we felt relatively safe.

We took a few pictures from the club lounge on our floor in the hotel and also from our room. We had a nice view.

We are planning a hike and some other sightseeing in Seattle tomorrow.
