Finally some sun.

It’s been raining for weeks so when we got a little bit of sun today we headed up to the Heron Rookery just outside of Ocean City NJ to see if the babies had hatched yet. Not yet but we did see some really beautiful herons in breeding plumage like the Yellow Crown above who was showing off. 

If you look closely at the nest here you can see the blue eggs still waiting to hatch. 

This beautiful black crowned night heron was still building his nest, stick by stick. 

And just to prove that there was actually some sun here’s a picture of the bridge into the island.
