We left on busses to the airport to await our charter flight. Not much of note it was a 3 hour flight which landed in a tiny airport with 2 gates. We collected our luggage and headed to a large catamaran in the harbor of Ushuaia where we were to have lunch and take a short cruise. The seas were too rough for them to leave the dock and so we just sat there killing time until our ship was ready to board. We would have preferred some free time to explore the town but it wasn’t allowed. At about 4:15

The weather was very changeable and so we did get some pictures of Ushuaia before we left

We were bussed over to the ship, the Nat Geo Endurance, named after the ship of Ernest Shackleton which sank.

We have a lovely suite on the ship

We took a few photos on our way out of port before the waves made it difficult to stand.

We found out that the itinerary has been reversed so we will visit the Falklands first and Antartica last. This is due to the availability of port days in the Falklands. Unfortunately we won’t be able to take advantage of the brief flat conditions on the way to Antartica and will instead have rough seas on our way to the Falklands tomorrow.
