Back to Paris - 4/27/2024

After going up the end of stage 9 of the 2023 Tour De France yesterday at Puy De Dome, we then drove a portion of stage 10 as it made it's way to and from lac Chambon. It was very overcast but still pretty with snow still in places.

We went into a little town on the shore of Lac Chambon and then came back out of the area and headed for the airport.

We took the highway back to Paris and the Charles de Gaulle airport where we returned the car. We then had to take out luggage and walk to the train in the airport which was quite a distance. We boarded the train and went 2 stops and then walked from there to our hotel Overall the walk from rental car to hotel was about 30 minutes. When we went to check into the hotel Conrad noticed this little sign at the desk that said I was the "guest of the day".

The benefits of guest of the day were mostly things that we couldn't use like late checkout but there were some nice snacks in our room. We got settled in the room, got our bags ready for the flight home the next day and then went down to the restaurant which had a surprisingly good dinner. Tomorrow we fly home and get back to the real world.
