We got up early and had a nice breakfast at the Best Western.

I was suffering from gall bladder issues and had a surgery scheduled but not until we got home so I wasn’t very comfortable sleeping but we made the best of it.

We started out hiking around an area called Sand Beach, which honestly was more rocky than sandy but pretty nonetheless. We say sea critters like a pink starfish, and some colorful rocks. We also decided to hike a trail above Sand Beach to have some views looking down. A fog rolled in at one point blocking the views but it went out almost as quickly as it had come.

We then drover to another area of Acadia to an iconic rock called Bubble Rock. It was only about a half mile hike from the parking area up to Bubble Rock but it was very humid and so it felt much longer.  The views from there were gorgeous. Of course we got the obligatory photo pushing the rock.

We headed back to the hotel to freshen up and rest before dinner. We had made reservations at a fancy restaurant called the Reading Room which was right on the harbor. We headed into town, a bit of a drive due to road construction, but we made it. We parked at the same little parking area we had been in the previous night and walked along the water to the restaurant. We arrived a little bit early but they had a beautiful table by the window ready and seated us right away. We enjoyed the views and the dinner quite a bit. The windows were kept so clean that it was hard to tell that there even were windows but with views like this I guess it makes sense.
