Conrad Sr, Mom, Cody and I got up early so we went exploring while everyone else slept.
Here’s the view from our Lanai (patio)

Here are the early risers hanging out on the Lanai

We then took a drive along the coast to check things out in the daylight since it was dark when we can in last night. There were lots of places to stop and see the ocean, here are a few pictures from the first overlook we came to.

Next along the way is Sunset beach. The water here is an amazing Turquoise color

Next we came to Pipeline, a very famous surfing beach and we discovered that there was a big surf contest going on. No one was surfing when we were there due to conditions, but the waves were impressive and Cody got some T-Shirts.
Earlier in the day we had run into one of the big surfers named Kelly Slater, and when we got to the contest we saw his name at the top of the board.

Here’s a view of the waves

After the surf contest we headed off to see Waimea Falls but once we got there we realized that it was a pretty long walk and required an admission fee so we decided to wait until we had everyone with us to check that out.
Our last stop was to Pupukea beach and that was very pretty as well with lots of waves crashing on the rocks.

There were lots of wild roosters all around in parking lots and outside of our villa. This rooster and the babies came right up to the car to see us at one of the beaches.

We headed back to the villa in time for lunch, and just in time for everyone else to wake up.
