We had a very long 24 hours trying to get to Hawaii. We left the house by 4:45 am and headed to the airport. No issues parking and getting to the terminal. The van driver asked if we were going on a cruise because we had so much luggage. All bags miraculously weighed in under 50 pounds and we were on our way. We arrived in Phoenix early and got on the plane and took off on time. Unfortunately about 40 minutes after we took off they informed us that there was an issue with the right engine and would have to circle for 3-4 hours to burn off fuel so that we could land back in Phoenix and start again. We did get a new plane and eventually headed out again. It was a very long day, and everyone was suffering the effects of being cooped up in a plane for so long. Thank goodness for exit row seats. Mom took the gold star for the day making it 24 hours at 80 years old and she was probably the only one of us who didn’t get at least a little grumpy somewhere along the line. We arrived at Turtle Bay resort after an hour drive. It’s dark so we can’t see a lot just yet, but here are some pictures of the villa Living room

There are 4 bedrooms and the villa looks out on the ocean. More pictures when the sun comes up.
