After a sea day yesterday we left the ship this morning with some of our luggage, headed for a 4 day overland tour to the Taj Mahal. The ship was docked in Cochi or Kochin India, and we went through another Idian immigrations process in the terminal at the port but it was brief. We woke today to bright sunshine and calm seas and the news that all excursions were a go. We had booked a day at a resort called Adaaran Vadoo on one of the tourist islands. We met in the theater as usual to be called for our excursions. The excursions are well organized and almost always on time unless we have trouble getting cleared at a port. We arrived in the Maldives and anchored outside of Male the capital. The seas were quite rough and the rain and wind was strong so all of the excursions were cancelled. Since we anchor just offshore in this port and people need to go ashore via tender boats, it was too dangerous to transfer passengers from the ship to the tenders in the rough seas. Today was another sea day as we make our way to the Maldives. This is a stop that was added after they had to cancel Dubai and Doha. The weather was stormy most of the day and so we mostly stayed close to our cabin. Conrad got to the Gym in the morning and Shawn did needlepoint. Today we woke up to monsoon type rains on a day when we were scheduled to go to a resort to have some beach and pool time. The weather called for all day rain but since we had been on the ship for the last 3 days, we decided to go anyway. We got off the ship in Colombo Sri Lanka and took a 90 minute bus ride to Wadduwa. We spent the last 3 days at sea sailing over to Sri Lanka. There are lots of activities on board but mostly we relaxed and caught up on things. We have additional entry documents for India, we went through India immigration on the ship, and Shawn went to soe needlepoint and Origami classes. We also started to attend the 4PM tea time in the Galileo lounge which we are enjoying. Conrad has spent lots of time on our balcony watching flying fish and other boats.

Today we are back in Thailand, and taking an early, full day excursion to the Sea where we will take inflatable canoes into the caves. As we read the details of the excursion we realized that we will each have a paddler so we won't even be paddling the canoe - nothing like living in luxury.
